Or perhaps I simply remembered the book as more supernatural than it really was; while there are some mythological elements to the book, they aren't as overwhelming as I thought they were. A Certain Pressure in the Pipes is a short m/m romance by Clancy Nacht. I loved the characters, although you only really get to know the main characters. Conrad is sassy and funny enough that I really loved him, and his father is well intentioned but a bit of an ass. Darkly Dreaming Dexter is a story about a serial killer, who kills other serial killers. Rereading this, I've realized just how flat some of Dexter's world seems as he narrates to us, but this only emphasizes how little he feels to me.
